Natalia obtained her J.D. in 1994 from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota.
She began her professional career at a prestigious firm in Bogota where she worked at the Regulatory Department between 1990 and 1999, being in charge of the prosecution of health registrations before the INVIMA and the ICA. In 2000, Natalia was named Deputy Director of Licensing and Registrations at the INVIMA, position she held for 1 year, where she implemented the automatic registration process for food, cosmetic hygiene and cleaning products. Natalia also participated as a negotiator before the Andean Community and as an advisor to the Colombian government in the negotiations for the harmonization of norms relating to pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, resulting in the harmonization for cosmetic products.
Natalia lead the group of multinational pharmaceutical companies in lobbying to obtain data protection for pharmaceutical products, where she participated in the team which promoted the issuance of Decree 2085 whereby data protection was effectively prescribed, as well as its correct interpretation and application by the INVIMA. In 2005, Natalia became a partner at a prestigious law firm in charge of the Regulatory Department, where she worked until 2010, when she left to form a new firm raisbeck & castro.
Natalia’s expertise lies in the counseling, prosecution and administrative litigation over all regulatory affairs and data protection, with extensive experience at the Colombian government, Andean Community and multinational companies. Her ample experience in the private research and development industry and government provides her with a privileged viewpoint for the counseling of her clients.
